Bloodstock Open Air 2014

The new home of traditional metal rock music, with exclusive performances, and three stages. Over ten thousand metalheads throng to the hallowed grounds of Catton Hall in Derbyshire for a wild weekend of metal celebrations.
Bloodstock Open Air festival will take place from Thursday 7th until Sunday 10th August at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, in South Derbyshire. The aim is to offer a traditional metal event comparable to those regularly seen in Europe and capture the spirit of the original Monsters Of Rock shows which used to take place at Castle Donington during the 1980 s and 1990 s.
Headliners Down, Emperor, and Megadeth, lead a bill that includes Biohazard, Orphaned Land, Rotting Christ, Sister Sin, Satan, Aborted, ReVamp, Hatebreed, Prong, Carcass, Lacuna Coil, Primordial, Saxon, Flotsam and Jetsam, Decapitated, Obituary, and Evil Scarecrow, Graveyard, Blood Red Throne, Hellyeah, Bloodshot Dawn, De Profundis, Aghast, Krokodil, Avatar, Morgue Orgy, October File, Shining, Entombed A.D., Monument, Gethika, KroW, Aaron Keylock, Undersmile, King Creature, Massive Wagons, Orphaned Land, Rabid Bitch of the North, The Heretic Order, No Sin Evades His Gaze, Born of the Jackal, Today the Sun Dies, WarCrab, Byzanthian Neckbeard, Sykosis, Skyclad, The Mercy House, Battleaxe, Profane Omen, Abhorrent Decimation, Phantom, The Canyon Observer, Angerman, Brutai, Scordatura, Stoneghost, Triptykon, Obsidian Kingdom, Jaldaboath, Stormzone, Stahlsarg, The King Is Blind, with Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth, Crowbar, and Children Of Bodom also festival exclusives.

The early bird offer has ended. Tickets are priced at £130 for adults with camping (+ booking fees), and car parking is priced at £16, child (aged 4 – 11 years) tickets are priced at £35, and campervan passes priced at £50. Day tickets are expected to be on sale at a later date. VIP options are also available. 
From 9am on Monday 6th January until midnight on Friday 7th March a deposit scheme was available.
Rock Society is the festival s Members Club , offering not only a 10% discount on a weekend ticket (including on top of the already discounted early bird ticket if you re quick enough!), but all sorts of other benefits, like access to the VIP Serpents Lair bar, priority signing tent access, special tours of backstage & production areas, a rock society laminate, and plenty more besides. The memberships are limited to just 250 and sell out very quickly every year, priced at £50, these memberships are available on a first come, first served basis.
As well as the international heavy metal bands across four stages, Bloodstock offers a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars.
After-hours entertainment takes place in the big top Sophie Stage. On Thursday night from 10.30pm, the Warm Up Party runs until 3am. On Friday karaoke with the house band between 10.30 and midnight.  The heavy metal continues through to 3am with 4 DJs of the Apocalypse. Saturday is Bloodstock s Got Talent day and the chance to win prizes, before 4DJs of the Apocalypse take to the decks until 3am with metal classics, Hellfire performances, dancers and guest DJs. Sunday is the Farewell Party running to 3am.
Bloodstock s co-founder, fantasy artist, Paul Raymond Gregory, is to launch a major art exhibition at the festival this year. Christened the Rock and Metal (RAM) Gallery, the exhibition is to be a permanent addition to the festival and will provide a showcase for a changing selection of rock-related art and memorabilia. Paul Raymond Gregory’s extensive body of work includes many famous album sleeves and monolithic pieces inspired by the writings of JRR Tolkien.
