Oya Festival 2014

Øya festival is the largest outdoor music festival in Oslo, Norway and promotes a diverse line up from across the globe.
Now in it s 16th year, Oya Festival has moved from the Medieval Park, to Tøyenparken in Sofienberg, Oslo and happens from Tuesday 5th until Saturday 9th August 2014.
Thursday s headliner are Outkast, Queens of the Stone Age, who headline Wednesday, Todd Terje who headlines Saturday, plus  Neneh Cherry & RocketNumberNine, Sharon Van Etten, Highasakite, Lulu James, Stein Torleif Bjella, Mayhem,  Little Dragon, John Wizards, Neutral Milk Hotel,  Royksopp & Robyn, Darkside, Slowdive, The National, Blood Orange, Janelle Monae, Thomas Dybdahl, Johndoe, Windhand, Bloody Beach, The Julie Ruin, Jungle, Brody Dalle, Farao, Thulsa Doom, Bombino, Jonathan Wilson, Hanne Kolstø, Joey Bada$$, Omar Souleyman, Nadine Shah, Spidergawd, deafheaven, Emilie Nicolas, Bryan Ferry, Conor Oberst, Neko Case, Clean Bandit, Gojira, Skambankt, Mac Demarco, Jon Hopkins, Oslo Ess, Royal Blood, St. Lucia, Earthless, Bow To Each Other, The Districts, Comet Kid, Hjerteslag, Yoguttene, Vilde Tuv, Daniel Kvammen, and more. In total there are 200+ bands on 4 outdoor stages and in 30 clubs.
Tickets are priced at 2425 NOK (£235) for a week pass (5 days)  or £79 for one day.
There is camping available nearby at Ekeberg Camping and the festival site is a ten minute walk from Oslo Central Station.
2014 marks the start of a new era for the festival, railroad construction is due to take place at tit s usual home so next year, Øya moves to a new site called Tøyenparken.
The new site is situated between three Oslo landmarks; the international Munch museum, the botanical gardens and Oslo s outdoor amphitheatre park – which includes an outdoor swimming pool, a football field and picturesque walking paths.  
Øya will close the main street between all three areas and join the two parks to become one huge area.  Despite the new site being bigger than its predecessor, Øya will still have a 60,000 capacity allowing for more space and a comfortable experience. 
Øya is the most environmentally friendly festival in the country, boasting 100% ecological food and green ethics. More information will be here when available.
