Galtres Parklands Festival celebrates its 10th year Â over three days on August bank holiday weekend, from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August 2014 at Duncombe Park stately home at Helmsley, York, in North Yorkshire.

The first of the other entertainment on offer over the weekend has also been announced and includes Andy Bell Magician, Captain Kipper s Famous Pirate Puppet Show, Dance Workshop, Four Shadows Theatre, Hekima- Sing and Tell, Helen Sant- York Storytelling, Hoglets-Theatre fun for little folk, Jenna Drury- Mud Pie Arts, Musical Theatre Workshop, Phoenix Puppets, Professor Fiddlesticks, The Stowaways, The Trolls, Tread the Boards, and York Theatre Royal and Pilot Theatre company present a play in a week.
An early bird adult weekend ticket is priced at Â£95, young person (aged 5 -15 years) tickets are priced at Â£40, a family ticket (2 adults and up to three children) is priced at Â£285.
Weekend festival tickets can be bought in two instalments, spreading the cost over six months or more, and also saving Â£10. Pay half now, and the balance by 1 July 2014. The deal guarantees a reduced rate of Â£85 for a ticket.
Day tickets are also available, and a camping (per tent) ticket is priced from Â£15 to Â£45 depending upon size of tent.
There s more than 100 fine beers and ciders all from Yorkshire (from Black Sheep Ale to Ampleforth Abbey Cider), and all the food is all finest quality, local, and mostly organic. Expect a full programme of entertainment on five stages of music and cabaret, loads for kids to do from film making to music workshops, and all set in a rural setting overlooking the Vale of York. Music ranges from chart-topping bands to local emerging talent, ranging from pop and acoustic to jazz, blues and ska. Comedy, theatre and offbeat performances at the night cabaret, films, family camping and clean loos too.
This year Galtres is likely to be once again 100% cashless with a RFID payment G-Card system.
The winners of the AMP Awards from each of the regions – Â Harrogate, Bradford, Leeds and York – will now get another opportunity to compete. The AMP Yorkshire Grand Final will take place on Sunday 24th August at the Galtres Parkland Festival in Helmsley.
The festival doesn t let any alcohol into the arena. Small amounts may be taken into the campsites (max 6 cans per person) and strictly no glass is allowed. The event started out 8 years ago as a beer festival with the aspiration of supporting local independent breweries and cider makers, and wants to stay true to their roots. They source their own beers, ciders and wines just as they did when it was a beer festival, these are priced at Â£3.50/pint or 175ml fair trade wine. We also supply 4-pint carry-out kegs for the campsites. More information will be here when available.
