Waterlooville Music Festival 2014
Now in its ninth year, the Waterlooville Music Festival is a cultural and musical event in East Hampshire, taking place from Saturday 14th to Sunday 22nd June 2014. The festival s focus is on popular classical, but a wide ranging programme is offered which in the past has included heavy rock and folk music, songs from the musicals, through to weighty classical organ pieces.
With around 50 concerts all together, taking place throughout the day and evening all week.Â The line-up is as follows:The opening Saturday brings hundreds of musicians at numerous locations throughout the town centre with Market Place Music from Voices United, culminating in a Party Night with Ot Of The Shadows, and a licensed bar serving real ale.Sunday offers a Gala Concert with Havant Symphony Orchestra.Monday s daytime events are to be announced, with Pitchpipers, and Africapella confirmed for the evwening.On Tuesday there is an organ recital with Colin Towner, Mumbaba for toddlers, followed by entertainment to be announced.On the Wednesday the events are to be confirmed, and the evening s concert is with Highbury Area Band.Thursday has a a School ds Noah workshop, and in the evening the Portsmouth Cathedral Cantate Choir.On Friday there s another school s concert at Bourne Comunity College, Palm Court will offer their annual afternoon cream tea dance with Paul Taylor, and in the evening there will be a ceilidh, folk and ale night featuring Burlesdon Village Band and support.
The final Saturday features Bands on the Lawn at lunchtime and a Last Night of the Proms , all the atmosphere of the real thing with Don Lloyd Meridian Wind & Strings.With Trinity Sunday celebrated with a Eucharist celebrating the gift of music. There is also a Eucharist in the church on Wednesday morning.
Daytime concerts are free. Evening concerts require tickets, and a full passport to all events is priced at Â£32. More information will be here when available.
